The SMS 44th Annual Conference examines the fault lines, contradictions, and divergences among strategic management paradigms in scholarship and practice. İstanbul, Türkiye, with deep historical roots in multiple civilizations across millennia, is perhaps the best location for this theme. The city has inspired countless thinkers with its beauty in the concurrence and amalgamation of literal and figurative contradictions, divergences, and fault lines. We hope the conference's theme and location will similarly inspire the strategic management scholars, practitioners, and students who attend.
Key Features:
- Conference Sessions: This year’s in-person conference format will include workshops, special panel sessions, and the SMS Business Meeting on Saturday, IG&C Sessions on Sunday morning, and plenary and research presentation sessions on Sunday afternoon-Tuesday.
- Receptions and Social Events: The conference offers three evening receptions, including a special off-site event on Monday night! Additionally, IG&C Socials will be held on Sunday evening as a way for attendees to meet fellow members of their Interest Groups and Communities.
- Organized and Informal Networking: In addition to informal opportunities to connect during coffee breaks and lunch, the conference will offer several organized small-group networking events hosted by SMS leaders around various topics of interest to members. Plus, use the conference app to easily schedule your own 1:1 meetings with colleagues between sessions!

Early-bird registration fees (through May 21):
- Student Members: $879 USD
- Regular & Emeritus Members: $979 USD
- Non-Members: $1,179 USD
*After May 21, the fees will increase by $100. After August 22, an additional $100 late registration fee will apply.

Registration Policies:
Registration is required to attend any of the conference activities; name badges must be worn to gain access to conference space and activities. For conference registration purposes, students are individuals who are enrolled full-time, in-residence at the PhD granting institution. For non-SMS members to qualify for this type of registration, they must first become a member of the SMS. Fees shown for a particular time period are valid only for registrations during that period that have completed payment within 14 days of registering. Due to costs already incurred, no refunds will be made for cancellation of your registration. If you are registered and are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another individual. If the conference registration fee is greater (i.e. member fee to non-member fee, etc.), the person to whom the registration is being transferred must pay the difference. Due to our policy of no refunds for cancellations, we recommend that registrants purchase travel insurance. Many providers have options that cover event registration fees.
